Walk in the Woods

I walked in the woods on this day,

Leaves are brown, the sky was grey,

The Holly, Beech, Oak and the Ash,

Shed their leaves in a flash.

-/-

Winter is coming ever so quick,

The ground is wet, muddy and slick.

Wellies and coat I put on why,

The warmer it gets as the day goes by

-/-

Cobwebs glisten in the morning sun,

Dog runs past having some fun.

Ducks on the lake asking for food,

Keep on walking, I'm not in the mood.

-/-

Tunnel under the M60 I walk through,

Cross the train lines home for a brew.

74 steps up that hill,

Heart pounding like a pneumatic drill.

-/-

Through the door fall on the chair,

Too try some fruit, an apple or pear.

No ... make a coffee & slice of cake.

Jobs to do, bed to make.
