34 Miles
Down the M62
2 Turkeys on a Building
With a brilliant view.
Cruise ships berth by the Albert Dock,
Girl walks past in a 70’s frock.
The Beatles story and the Tate,
Slavery Museum. Mmmm we could debate.
We drove with the Sea to our left,
Crosby, Formby, Southport, Longton.
Turned left at Preston,
Drive straight passed Warton.
Windmill on the Seafront,
Planes in the Sky.
Gulls pinching food,
With their war cry.
Lytham is full of older people,
Mobility scooters and the odd church steeple.
Charity shops and on every corner,
Doddering Old folk, I did warn yer.
Then past Blackpool,
With its tower and lights.
Kiss me quick hats,
Some terrible sights.
Hens and stags out on the piss,
Don’t bring your children to see this.
From bookies to bingo let’s have a flutter,
Then fall down drunk in the Gutter.
